After Arsenal lost to Manchester United, away from home, with 7 first choice players out and 1 second choice (Frimpong) out, the comments looked like this:
OH MY FUKKIN GOD I’M GOING TO DIE ARSENAL ARE SHIT WE’RE ALL SHIT ARSENAL ARE RUBBISH THE MANAGER IS A DICKHEAD THE PLAYERS SHOULD ALL EXPLODE IN SHAME I WILL NEVER SUPPORT THIS CLUB AGAIN
After won on Saturday, remember they won, the comments look like this:
OH MY FUKKIN GOD I’M GOING TO DIE ARSENAL ARE SHIT WE’RE ALL SHIT ARSENAL ARE RUBBISH THE MANAGER IS A DICKHEAD THE PLAYERS SHOULD ALL EXPLODE IN SHAME I WILL NEVER SUPPORT THIS CLUB AGAIN AND NOW I WILL PICK ON MERTESACKER BECAUSE IT WAS HIS FIRST GAME AND HE KEPT A CLEAN SHEET.
I mean, it was Mertesackers premier league debut, in which he kept a clean sheet. What did you want him to do? Climb up to the top of the stadium before swan diving off into the box to score a roof diving header? Oh wait, a clean sheet isn’t good enough for a league debutant defender? He should have scored a double hat trick as well?
Seriously, if it pains you that much to watch the Arsenal that you have to start spewing your cock bile all over the internet even when they win… well, maybe football isn’t the sport for you? Instead you should investigate the sport of nailing your bollocks to a door frame in a sound proof room, because frankly it would be less painful for all of us and you could suffer in silence. How do you behave on christmas day when you open your presents, only to find that it’s socks again? Do you decide to hunt down and burn all the cotton in the world?
I mean, Arsenal have their faults, that’s obvious to anyone. But everyone can relax for another week safe in the knowledge that the Arsenal have picked up three points – without going off the hysterical deep end petitioning the club to cut Wengers head off.
Will Arsenal lose again this season. Yeah, almost definitely. Is everything now fixed? No, obviously not.
But did Arsenal win? Yeah. Did Arsenal create chances? Yep. Did the new boys play well? Yes, Arteta in particular looked fantastic at times, creating a chance for Ramsey in the 1st minute that really should have found the net, or at least the keeper.
Arsenal were understandably wobbly in the second half, but they got through it. They finished the game with a little bit more belief than they started it with, and really that’s all that anyone could ask. A clean sheet made it sweeter and good debuts sweeter still – but all that mattered was a win, and we won.
Arsenal could go either way now, they could follow it up with a win tomorrow night, or a loss, but either way I’ll be watching, supporting and cheering and either way I won’t totally lose my shit and start crying on the internet. Man up.
