Manchester United vs Arsenal – Match Day Live…

Evening fellow Gooners,

It’s time for Match Day Live as we prepare for one of the biggest games of our season. It’s true to say that neither of us (by that, I mean United and Arsenal) have played paticularly well, neither team has been consistent in their play or results either. Both have suffered weird results – with us, we’ve had 3 home defeats, but with United they’ve not lost yet but have drawn like a bilzillion games. I’m not sure how to spell Bilzillion and wondered how much it really was – so I googled it… and found three (albeit, the same) meanings…

1. bazillion
buy bazillion mugs, tshirts and magnets
A context-sensitive (CS) number. A bazillion marbles could be hundreds to thousands. A bazillion gunshot wounds could be twelve or thirteen.

2. bazillion
buy bazillion mugs, tshirts and magnets
More than a million and billion. A figure of speech describing more of “something” than is imaginable. Eg. Tony Robbins made a bazillion dollars because of all the schmucks that attended his lectures.
3. bazillion
buy bazillion mugs, tshirts and magnets
A hell of a lot of said thing, but still a slight over exaggeration as to the actual amount. I worked like a bazillion hours this week… by a bazillion I mean 20

Interesting hey?

Anyway… where was I? Oh yeah… I hope we beat United by a bazillion goals tonight!

If rumours are to be true, as Kieran D highlighted this morning, and Fabianski is not available, then we could just see Szcznesy in goal, something which was also printed in the official Arsenal.com preview of the game – which also highlighted injuries to Gibbs, Cesc, Diaby and perhaps even Clichy, meaning Eboue may start tonight…

Szcznesy

Sagna – Squillaci – Djourou – Eboue

Wilshere – Song

Nasri – Rosicky – Ashavin

Chamakh

We played fucking woeful. All players were crap!!!

  9. edison says on :

we may have lost, but i think we have finally found a goal keeper who strikers are threatened by.

my man of the match is Szczesny. okay he let in an impossible to save goal, but he kept us in the game, made some important saves, and he could well have contributed to rooney missing his penalty. I hope wenger uses him from now on, he does his job very well – far better than almunia or flappy who united would have trampled over.

we can afford to lose this game, and wenger showed it in his tactics – by the end we saw chamakh, walcott, van persie all on the pitch at once. not great, because thats far too many attacking players for arsenal’s passing game to function well. but it showed that wenger was going for broke.

  10. Berth says on :

Spot on Edison except for your questioning of Wenger’s tactics. I think the tactics was to contain the Anti-football red devils without conceding too. The game was a very good one in terms of defensive play by us, but attacking was not great and that was down to bad pitch and lack of fitness for Fab and Vanpersie

    Edison / Berth…

Personally, I think the defence did very well. I think they weren’t helped out at all by the rest of the team, Arshavin was very poor again too.
