Monday Round Up

Evening guys…

Day #2892 of the International break and not much of interest going on in the world of Arsenal… no matter how many of these International breaks we have, they get more boring and more boring every time… We’ve not had any major injury news in the last couple of days, but of course, there is another game on Wednesday… so that will probably be the one that sees all of our players injured… I don’t think we have any more international breaks until next year so we’ll have 3 months of uninterrupted play!

In the International round up news… Senderos, Cesc and Gallas all scored for their countries and all their countries won… as we talked about yesterday England lost and they had no Arsenal players… so it’s a very easy equation – call up Wilshere, Gibbs, Sanchez Watt and Walcott and bingo, we’ll win the world cup…!

Our thoughts go to Cesc Fabregas, whose grandfather was taken ill and taken into hospital this weekend. You may have heard of news regarding this / Cesc being withdrawn from the squad. Rumours in Spain is that he will also miss the action this weekend, but nothing has been confirmed. Best wishes to the Fabregas family.

The Barcelona supremo’s are using this incident as a citing that Cesc will have to come home to Spain and rumours that he will be moving over there in January have resurfaced. I don’t see anything in this – again it’s another rumour and typical of the International break and Barcelona.

The captain did score an amazing goal on the weekend.

So, with not much going on at the moment, I’m going to save my blogging skills for another day and leave you with a quote from Ivan Gazidis who says Arsene needs to bring a trophy back home this season…

“We have created and developed a team playing fantastic football,” he added. “It’s wonderful to watch and very exciting at times.

“We’ve spoken about the group’s potential. Now, and by now I mean this season, it’s very important for us to focus strongly on winning something for the fans. They deserve it.

“We can talk about football as a business but, fundamentally, this club exists for the fans and they don’t care about financial reports, they care about what happens on the pitch.”

Good stuff Ivan… we all agree… a little bit of acknowledgement from those above does help our cause…

More tomorrow…

Best wishes from the WOA followers and the Gooners to the Fabregas family.

  • Yemi

Speedy recovery to PA fabregas !!!! this international break is so so boring.

  • Leeroy.N

Good to hear Senderos is scoring in the international break though! Go, go Senderos!!

  • Debs

    Interesting stat this, guys:
Arsenal have scored eight goals from outside the box this season three more than they managed in the whole of 2008-09.

Sign of us playing with more confidence, maybe?

  • Arsefan101

    Agree Debs!

  • Fabrez

All the best to grandpa 4 sure. And yeah Debs…confidence is better. Now fans can’t say the guys don’t take shots!

  • Gooner Get Ya

Fab flys back today so I guess his granddad is doing ok. I know we are all missing the prem but we are leading up to the biggest competition in football and I for one am very excited about the world cup. Come on England!!!!

  • devday

Definitely looking forward to the World Cup, but we’ve already qualified, so no need for any more International games… and we (Arsenal) have been doing well recently, so I hope it doesn’t break our flow…

Anyone going to South Africa next Summer?

  • Fabrez

Would have been nice 2 go but I’ll b looking on from the telly!

  • Yemi

I was just thinking aloud, “can’t we get out-of-favor tott’m striker pavyluchenko?”
