Good morning fellow Gooners….
Today we take on Blackburn at the Emirates and it is prime time for us to gain ground on the top teams. With Man United’s surprise draw yesterday against Sunderland and of course, either both or one of Chelsea or Liverpool definitely going to drop points today, a win would see us jump into 3rd, with a game in hand.
We don’t have great record against Sam Allardyce, but we do have an awesome record against Blackburn. Last season we disposed of the Lancashire team 4-0 both home and away. Team news ahead of the game suggests that we have Niklas Bendtner and Theo Walcott in the squad. We’re most likely to start with Niklas Bendtner as his height can be used in a defensive manner too. Okay, I think the team will be…
Mannone
Sagna – Gallas – Vermaelen – Clichy
Song – Diaby
Bendtner – Cesc – Arshavin
Van Persie
With a bench of WS, Eboue, Senderos, Ramsey, Rosicky, Vela and the returning Walcott…
This week has been full of plaudits for Arsene, having become the club’s longest serving manager in our history. Alex Ferguson was quick to praise Arsene regarding his 13 years at the helm, and that’s nice to hear… of course. Arsene was quick though to summarise the achievements of the club so far, but insist that it’s all about winning trophies and he is determined to do so… very soon…
“I haven’t exceeded my expectations in my time here because I always expect much more. My expectation is to win every single football game I manage and I didn’t do that so I can never exceed my expectations. There are still more targets to achieve. I believe we have consistently managed to be at the top level, within our resources and while improving our structures. The Club is on a new platform to reach many more targets. Today I believe our structures – a new stadium, a new training ground, a healthy financial situation, a very young team playing at the top – means we have all the basics to be successful. But of course we want to win trophies because we have worked very hard with this team to be where we are. It is down now to us to win the Premier League, the Champions League – those are our targets.”
Our structure is a spring board for our club to become the biggest there is – with all the attributes off the pitch in place – the players are starting to come together in manner we’ve been waiting and hoping for… and Arsene is very excited at the prospect of this team starting to kick on…
Sugar… it’s time to get down to the Emirates… okay… time to cut the article short… come on you Gooners…!
