It’s been a very quiet transfer deadline day… I’ll be keeping an eye on what’s going on today in the hope that something may just materialize out of nowhere:
08:00 – Not much going on, not too much in the papers this morning. The only story related to Arsenal is the possible move of Philippe Senderos to Hull for £4m… if we’re not going to sign Hangeland or any other defender, shouldn’t we keep the Swiss International?
09:00 – Some news says we’re targetting Steven Taylor from Newcastle as a replacement for Philippe Senderos. I think it’s all paper talk.
10:00 – Interesting news that we’re still in last minute talks with two players, Chamakh and Subotic. Again, looks like speculation more than any other thing. Doubt there is real substance in the rumours.
11:00 – Nothing really moving yet. The Chamakh link seems to be just a rumour – news is that he may wait until January and sign for us on a free transfer. The Senderos to Hull thing looks like it is going ahead.

13:00 – Another rumour circulating the media waves is that we’re in talks with Real Madrid to sign Van Der Vaart. Another one I quite doubt – we’ve got enough attacking midfielders to build an army (if you include Vela, Walcott, Rosicky, Nasri, Cesc and Eboue).
13:20 – News hotting up on the Mirror blog that Arsene is working on two deals, one for Chamakh and one for Matiudi – we’ve heard these rumours all summer I know, but there seems to be some more news about this one today!
14:00 – Rumours that Arsene Wenger is in Madrid are surfacing as reports by a few blogs, but not SSN. Fulham have been in contact with us about taking Carlos Vela on loan, but this is due to be rejected by Arsene.
14:15 – More rumours linking Armand Traore with a loan move to Birmingham City – this is probably a rumour that may come to fruitition.
15:00 – No news is good news? No news is NO NEWS! There is nothing much to report in the last hour or so, really struggling to find anything in any site or newspaper with any real substance. Some people reporting Steven Taylor is at the Emirates. No real confirmation though and what would be the point?
16:00 – Nada, not a whisper. More interest in Eduardo’s ban to be honest.
16:52 – 8 minutes until the transfer window closes. The only signing of the whole summer was Thomas Vermaelen… whilst we saw the back of Kolo Toure and Emmanuel Adebayor. Ouch.
As things stand, there have been no confirmed transfers.
