Arshavin speaks as I head off for Boston…

So, it’s day 5 of the “Ade-bye-yawn” story and it’s been evident that he has wanted to go for some time, and in reality, his re-signing last year was down twofold:

1) To keep him at the club for another year

2) To ensure his value if he were to leave this summer

The nonsense that Adebayor has created about his relationship with the fans is his way of looking like the nice guy – but really, any player can win over the fans – good player, show desire and talk the talk.

Adebayor – after all the fans stuck by you in your early years, you slap us in the face and then blame us for your departure.

Good riddance, is what I say… yes, he does score goals, but his attitude isn’t right…

Andrei Arshavin has been in the press today and he knows that it’s time for Ade to move on…

“I think it is very difficult for Arsenal and Adebayor as well.

“He is an excellent striker. Everybody knows him and he can score from nothing. But it is his decision whether he wants to stay or he wants to go.

“We have Arsene. He knows everything. He knows if we need someone then he will buy.”

Very true – that’s it Arshavin believe in your manager, he knows what is right – even if playing you on the left is right! You know what I mean…

Arshavin also talked about what he has to do as a player and how although scoring four goals at Anfield, has to do more and do it regularly to show the world what he is all about…

“Most people recognise me as a boy who scored four goals. Now I have to prove it happened because I am a strong player.”

Okie dokie, I am off to Boston right now for a nice American wedding so will be in touch when I land… adios for now…

  • AJ

Ah Arshavin, once I buy my away shirt, he’s definetly going on the back, I love the guy!

  • AJ

Another transfer update, apparently we are going to “revive” our interest in Lazio’s Goran Pandev, when were we interested before?

  • Gooner Get Ya

Good to hear Arshavin’s hunger to show he is a quality player…I can’t wait to see what impact he will have next season.

I am so gutted that Ade hasn’t gone yet…I keep waking up and going straight on my phone to see if any news has materialised over night, only to be dissapointed. Stop dragging your heals and go you tosser.

Hope you have a good time at the wedding Dev, the last wedding I attended the cake got pushed over by the sister of the bride…who quickly ended up with a hand print across her face…courtesy of the bride. LOL.

  • AJ

Lol @ “stop dragging your heals and go you tosser” and the slap across the face.

  • AJ

And yeah I wake up disappointed each morning too

  • els

    Goooo just gooooo!

Aj that’s exactly what I thought Pandev, when were we interested before? I’m all for it though as long as it comes second to a DM quality signing.

  • Gooner Get Ya

Pandev is a decent player and someone I have recommended before, however he is an AM/FWD so I am not sure if we actually need that type of player…unless AW thinks he could be a replacement for Ade?

  • Pete

SSN just reported Ade was at Arsenal training ground this morning saying his goodbyes to the squad and staff.

  • Yemi

DM, DM, DM and class striker to replace ade

  • Yemi

    Just saw this :

Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor is still coming to terms that manager Arsene Wenger wants to sell him.

The Mirror says angry Adebayor is locked in a battle with Arsenal over a £2m loyalty bonus.

The first he knew of his proposed switch was last week – he was told at the airport by Arsenal officials, when he returned from Togo.

  • Gooner Get Ya

Loyalty bonus… Don’t make laugh!! That can’t be true. The latest I heard is Man C our looking at Forlan because they haven’t agreed personal terms with Ade…I hope that is not true either.

  • bayo

i hope we get a good replacement and not chamakh

  • bayo

the president of bordeaux just dismissed any link between arsenal and chamakh i think thats good news

  • sam

He’s not out yet, so let’s not beat Ade down any more. We may need to either sell him to others or god forbid keep him. We can bad mouth him once he’s out of the gate.

  • khai

there’s news about a possible swap for a CB “Arsene Wenger To Offer Philippe Senderos Plus Cash For Fulham’s Brede Hangeland – Report” wonder how true is that. and i’m totally excited about the possibility of Ade going. :X

  • JDD

if adebayor leaves do we need to everyone keeps saying are priority before a striker is a dm and a for what are startin 11 could look like im startin to see similarities with are untouchables attack.

    nasri(pires) fabregas(vieira) song/new signing(gilberto) arshavin(ljungberg) van persie(bergkamp) eduardo(henry) we could even take out eduardo then put van persie(henry) arshaivn(bergkamp) rosicky(ljungberg)

    i hope this isnt confusing.

  • Pete understands that Arsenal are in the final stages of completing a move for Bordeaux hitman Marouane Chamakh. According to a source close to the club the Gunners have agreed a fee with their French counterparts and are on the verge of concluding personal terms with the player.

Chamakh will replace Togo forward Emmanuel Adebayor who is expected to complete a £25 million move to Manchester City in the next 24 hours.

Frenchman Wenger has been linked with a move for the 25-year-old Moroccan since January but appears to have moved quickly now that the necessary finances have been freed up. Courted around the continent, Chamakh saw his star rise across Europe having netted 14 times for Laurent Blanc’s Ligue 1 championship winning side.

Chamakh admitted recently: “I want to play in the Premier League and a club like Arsenal would be a dream. If they were to come calling, I would certainly give them a positive answer.”

The Morocco international has scored 53 goals in almost 200 matches for Bordeaux since joining the club seven years ago, and expect the deal to be competed in the next coming days.

  • zohaib

Bordeaux say there havn’t been any phone calls or bids yet for Chamakh. I’m hoping it stays that way. I don’t want Chamakh thankyou. I want a world-class DM. NOW !

  • Mehedi

    “” >> first 2 min.

    face it

  • Mehedi

I wish i could show arsene that video

  • Debs

To be honest, Mahedi, a similar video can be made for even the best striker in the world, whoever that may be, lol. They all have shockers ever so often.
It’ll be easier to tell how good (or bad) Chamakh is, if only we had access to like their last 5 games or so. But that said, the few seconds I saw, that was some pretty woeful finishing!
I guess whatever it it Wenger’s been seeing, it must have been pretty good!

  • Mehedi

    Yeah i Know

But, I just want the perfect striker,

you know,I guess he is good,

I trust arsene with all my heart.

And i am sorry for the … you know.

    I guess he is good.

    Huntelaar is good too.

  • Debs

He’s gone now, Ade, obviously. I’m sure there’ll be more celebration than mourning over this. Good luck to him, as long as he doesn’t score winners against us when we meet in the league! lol

  • Yemi

Debs, is it confirmed ? is ade off ? anyone watch the barnet matcg, was it ok ? how was rosisky?

  • Debs

Yep. It’s confirmed. SkySports. I did watch the Barnet match, but I was watching it on a half screen, (cos I was watching cricket on my laptop as well! lol), and it was a bit difficult to tell who was who- all I could see was a whole lot of players in dark blue! lol
But the little I saw of Vermaelen, he’s a good buy. He played the whole match, but it’s still early doors though. Glad to see Rosicky back! He was a bit rusty, but to be expected. He played a good 45mins and as long as he doesn’t have any new niggles, a la Eduardo, it’s all good news!
The first half had more first team players, but the 2nd half was the youth team, but with Vermaelen as well. It was a good work-out for the guys, so it’s all good. Can’t wait for the next pre-season match! :)

  • Yemi

Adebayor has signed……its official !!!!! Ade is officially blue !!!!!
