ManUtd would do well to get him back in place of their ever so great 30 million pound striker Berbatov. What a waste of money and what a pathetic decision to sell him. The Spanish defences might not be as good as the English but you make it sound as if they’re hopeless. Some of the best international defenders play in that league. I wonder how ManUtd couldn’t manage to score a goal against Villareal in 2 legs, was it last year or this year, I’m forgetting. And at the end of the day a striker has to make the effort to get a goal, they don’t all come in penalties or deflections.

It’s funny, Kieran, you bring up your own ‘facts’. How would you define Adebayor or VanPersie’s season then, genius ? They have half their goals in penalties … ?!

Who knows why Forlan went to Spain. It’s not necessarily as obvious as the media portrays it. Sometimes we think we know everything there is to know. I’m not sure how you can pass judgement on what the circumstances were.

The point is, he’s scored 41 goals. Ronaldo did it last year. Were all of them deflections and penalties ? When you score that many goals, maybe a few are but more often than not, you deserve them. And maybe you should look at him more closely. He looks like a fantastic player. A two-footed striker is a rare quality and a fantastic advantage.

I’d rather have him than a guy who gets injured one month, and fit the next, injured the next and fit the next, and is almost hopeless with his weaker foot, unless he gets lucky. Or another guy who’s one of the tallest people around, yet can’t head the ball right, doesn’t know the offside rule and has a poor attitude and work-rate.

He’s a proper direct striker, not a support-striker like most of our present strikers. We need somebody like him if we want to convert more chances, and score more.
