Team news ahead of the game sees another injury to Eduardo who unfortunately suffered a groin injury in the game dubbed "120 minutes of misery and 15 penalties"... Myself plus you guys all thought Edurdo would be the first to put his goal away. Arsene commenting on Eduardo's injury affecting his penalty:
“Unfortunately we have lost Eduardo with a groin problem. He got it in the first half of extra time and I wonder if that stopped him from taking his penalty that well. It shows you that no matter what you do in training when you go to the uncontrolled movements of top, top level competition your body needs time to adjust. It is only a short-term injury but he is out for Saturday.”
One player who will be back is Andrei Arshavin, and his cameos so far this season have been good, solid and inspiring. He’s had a few games under his belt as well as some rest and I expect him to start tomorrow and make an impact. Odds on Arshavin scoring tomorrow?
My line up at the moment would be:
Almunia
Sagna – Toure – Gallas – Clichy
Walcott – Song – Denilson – Arshavin
Bendtner – Van Persie
With Fabianski, Djourou, Gibbs, Eboue, Ramsey, Diaby, Nasri and Vela
News is that Silvestre is back in training and could be a player we could see against Hull in the FA cup on Tuesday.
Here’s some fighting talk from Theo Walcott who talks about the vibe in the camp.
“If we had lost, there would have been a lot of players down, but now everyone is buzzing. Hopefully this result will show everyone we are a great unit and we will see where it takes us. The dressing room after the game was like we had just won the World Cup final. The atmosphere is brilliant. Even though there are all sorts of nationalities in there, we all get along and we are like a family. We have got a lot of players coming back towards the end of the season. We seem to have had our bad spell. Now hopefully we can have a good spell and push for those Champions League spots.”
And finally, I hope the Arsenal fans who were out there have got back safely back to the UK. I understand that a fan was stabbed and I hope the fan is okay. This type of behaviour is uncalled for – something Roma / Lazio have become famous for and the club should be fined. The Champions League should be moved. It’s ridiculous.]]>
