Episode 27: My saga continues

Last night, Zenit agreed to the ransom money that Arsenal had offered for my freedom. I hear the fee was £15,000,000 and for that I am glad. Thank you dear Arsene for your offer and it is now my chance to escape.

However, today Secret Agent Dennis Latcher has confirmed that I will have to pay the club £2.5 million euros to break my contract. This I can not do. Zenit gave me £5m in August 2006. They said, "stay with us for the remainder of your contract and you can buy as much fish as you want". I said "yes, I love fish" and took the £5m. But now they want half of that value back. But I have already spent it on fish and one ferrari. What do I do now?

They used to pay me £100,000 per week and at the Emirates I will only earn £80,000. So I will lose £1m per year. It will take me whole year to earn that £2.5m that Zenit want. What can I do? I cannot accept this - I am being held to ransom - oh Zenit - how could you do this to me?

I will call Secret Agent Dennis Latcher and ask for a bar graph...

He has sent a pigeon to me with a note. The note has a diagram:

32weeks

It will take me 32 weeks to earn the money that I owe Zenit. 32 weeks of only bread and water – maybe for 32 weeks I can share with Roman Pav-lee-ho-chenk-ko, on the sofa I do not mind.

I need to do something – maybe I can ask Arsene for help? It’s the only way.

I find myself so close to my dream, yet at the same time, further away.

    < ![CDATA[The Gunners have been tracking the Russian playmaker for some time, with the saga showing no sign of reaching a conclusion.

    Arshavin's club, Zenit St Petersburg, had claimed on Monday that an agreement had been reached with Arsenal and all that was required for the deal to go through was for the player to agree terms.

    Wenger, though, insists that is not case and is refusing to let the episode divert attention away from the important business of generating results on the field.

    "It is not true a fee has been agreed. We are not close to concluding any transfer; Arshavin or anybody else. At the moment it is all quiet," said the Frenchman.

    "For me, it is of little interest. I can understand that when the transfer window is open, it makes headlines

    "I like quality football, and for me that is more important than having one more player here."

    Wenger added: "Time is getting short and at the moment I am more focused to win the game tomorrow (against Everton).

    "We know we are in front of a big game and the most important thing is to focus on that.

    "For me, it is not a distraction because what is important is the team continues to focus on the championship, the FA Cup and the Champions League."

    Wenger also played down speculation linking him with a move for Manchester City centre-half Micah Richards.

    "I like the player, but I have not gone for him, no," he said.

    Gooner Get Ya - I guess calling him disloyal is unfair. I do think he is a tad conceited. The bloke has hardly had the kind of career to demand the wages he is. Also, i'm assuming he would jump ship to Barcelona in the summer if the interest was there. What makes you think this is his final move?]]>

    Dev – Are you serious about him having to buy out his contract, even though he is being sold? What kind of a clause is that?!

    It’s not his contract – they gave him a goodwill bonus of 5m up front and now what half of it back as he has half the contract to go.

    Some things are better left unsaid, We the fans don’t really know what is happening out there between Zenith and Arsenal. The only thing we should be bordered about is being on alert to know if his been signed or not. Other issues are elementary.

    Zenit have done a sneaky one and said yes to Arsenal at £15m ONLY IF Arshavin gives them £2.5m.

    Or they want £17.5m from us and will waive the £2.5m.

    They've kind of switched it so it's Arsenal vs Arshavin rather than Zenit versus.]]>

    Berth is rite…but it’s natural for us fans to be as involved & concerned as we r tho! And Zenit think they r smart. I’m thinkin this deal is not gonna happen at this rate 2 b honest. Ah well… Everton v Arsenal is all i can b bothered about at the minute! Very big game for us seeing that Everton are rite behind us and we have 2 remain consistent! A win def needed!

    < ![CDATA[Though a part of me is on alert for the Arshavin news, the other part is keen on the Everton game. For the game I cant really say, but what am sure of is that we cant loose and drawing is out of the equation too.

    Winning will be difficult but can be achieved if we play our heart out.]]>

    Winning can also be achieved if we don’t play Eboue and play Vela, VanPersie and Eduardo in attack.

    lol @ Eboue! I agree tho. We need our most creative players on the pitch 2morrow…with Song in the DM. Vela shud really play…and we kno seeing Eduardo is wishful thinkin seeing that AW said after the Croatia game he’ll be back…another 2 weeks or so…

    Most creative players bcuz Everton play 4-6-0…hell of a hard midfield 2 break down as shown v Liverpool twice!

    Yeah…i kno its Wenger…and if he goes too defensive, it will be Cardiff and Bolton all over again…0-0 with 15 minutes to go… possiblt ending 0-0. I hope he takes no comfort in the fact that we head the table for late goals…bcuz we aren’t always going to find a late goal when we need it. He needs those impact players like Vela there from the start i’d like to think…but AW is boss so let’s see what he does.

    I can't beleive AV are 3rd in the league...if someone would have said to me before this season that they would be in that position I would have laughed. They have definately got lady luck on their side thats for sure.

    I just prey that we can get a decent result against Everton tonight...I think Gallas is back tonight so what are the predicted line ups?]]>
