Arsene and Thierry talk the Title talk

Arsene and Thierry have both been talking in the last day or so on our title challenge and both firmly believe it's back on track and we will win the title... they both have belief and with 8 games to go, it is the time to stand up and be counted.

Arsene is a confident man and spoke very confidently in his press conference yesterday:

“We’ve got the strength of character to win the title, believe me. That’s my belief, my firm belief and at the game on Sunday you will see. Since the first day of the season I have said that I believe in this team. Come back in May and we will speak about it then. There’s always a first time and, until you win, people have doubts about you and they’re questioning you. But the strong ones keep going.”

And we’re strong. Cesc, Matty, Ade et al have the fighting spirit we need, they should in Milan they had the courage. They’re all young, but then so is Rooney & Ronaldo and so are Torres & Babbel. Yes, I know that’s 80 million pounds of talent, but as Arsene has always said, if you’re good enough.

I’m really looking forward to tomorrow’s game, it promises to be an awesome day – a battle between to the top four teams. Arsene continues:

“What’s interesting on Sunday, and was maybe not the case in the first Grand Slam Sunday, is that all four teams have a very good reason to try and win the game. Chelsea is in that position, we are in that position, Liverpool are in that position and Man United as well. It promises a very exciting Sunday and all the four teams are really in a must-win game.”

The best scenario is a Liverpool win in the early afternoon kick off and then a win for us at the Bridge.

Take a look at the match preview, team news and line-ups.

Thierry has been talking too, and it’s always good to hear our former captain. I’ve reported on the heart moving interviewwith Adebayor where he talks about the continued support by Thierry.

Thierry spoke to the Sun today – here’s the full quote:

“I have this feeling Arsenal will win the Premier League. They are playing well against the big four and I do think they play the most attractive football, though Manchester United have also played some good stuff.

“So far, Arsenal have lost only one game and, if they remain unbeaten from now on, it would be very unusual not to win the title.

“Obviously, I love Arsenal. But that’s not the reason why I think they will win the title. I just feel they have the quality.

“I still follow their results, every game. Last Saturday, every five minutes against Middlesbrough, I was texting somebody to find out what was happening.

“I watch them every game possible and I wish them good luck. I still have something in my heart for Arsenal.

“They have played beautiful football this season and deserve to win something. It would be brilliant. No one thought they would drop points against Birmingham, Aston Villa, Middlesbrough and Wigan.

“They have been doing brilliantly against the big teams, so, maybe, it is a good time to play Chelsea.”

Well, who am I to argue…

It’s going to be an exciting game tomorrow, come on you Gooners!
