Arsenal vs AC Milan Preview: Line Ups

I’ve had a high number of hits on this page today - this blog entry is from the first leg – if you’re looking for today’s game (second leg on 4th March 2008) click here.

Okay, it’s Wednesday and the day has finally arrived… Arsene says “it’s the ultimate test”… Cesc says “we’re in the presence of world class players”…

It’s going to be a very exciting night tonight, in front of 60,000+ at the Emirates… With Gilberto suffering a “stiff back”, he is touch and go and it’s looks like Eboue will be restored to the side and a reversion to 4-4-2 although this 4-4-2 can easily become 4-5-1 with Hleb and Adebayor up front!

Arsene believes we can beat them & I agree – but we have to be at our best.

“We are underdogs, by a little bit,” said the Arsenal manager. “They have the experience and won it last year. We are an upcoming team, so it is a big challenge against the holders of the trophy.”For me we have the toughest draw of the English teams. And this game will define whether or not we can win the Champions League.”They have quality and experience, but we’re a team who can challenge them and can beat them. Overall, we want to be at our best to beat them.”

Cescy is careful of Kaka – I would be too!

“I really like Pirlo to be honest. He’s a great player, very intelligent and a great passer of a ball. He’s always looking at the best solution. There’s also Kaka, who had a great year last year, and we’ll have to be careful of him.”

More in a bit, time to do some work!]]>
