Arsenal vs AC Milan Early Preview

I’ve had a high number of hits on this page today – this blog entry is from the first leg – if you’re looking for today’s game (second leg on 4th March 2008) click here. Wednesday brings us the first leg of the mouth-watering clash between the year before last’s finalists Arsenal and last year’s winners, AC Milan. I am sooo excited about this clash, it’s poised to be a great European night! Although premature, this is what I expect in terms of team line up for Wednesday clash… Almunia is set to return after being rested for the FA Cup game and having returned from a stomach bug earlier in the week. Sagna, I think will be back, he’s had some unfortunate family problems with the recent death of his brother – our thoughts go out to him. Clichy should recover from his rest mulscular injury and the back five will be completed by a hopefully fitter Toure and caption Gallas. With Walcott, Denilson, Diaby, Rosicky still injured, our midfield could be Eboue, Cesc, Flamini and Hleb. I think Arsene will opt for Eboue rather than Gilberto as we’re at home and he’d want to attack. The awesome Adebayor up front with little Eduardo should complete the line up.

Arsene is definitely looking forward to this game.
“I have difficulty being crazy today because I am more worried about the consequences it could have on the team. The targets are so big for us that you don’t feel sorry for yourself. We have a massive game in front of us on Wednesday night and I feel the immensity of the game makes you forget your disappointment. What we have learnt today is that this sort of performance will not be good enough against Milan.”
